Teppanyaki for kids, birthdays and groups
At Fujiya the whole table sits around the hotplate, so kids get a front-row seat. They watch dinner being cooked a metre away and catch their own bowl of fried rice.
Kids at the hotplate
We’re family-friendly and we love cooking for kids. Our kids’ set is $35 and comes with chicken teriyaki, beef tenderloin, teppan fried rice and fried mixed vegetables. Most kids finish with a pancake and ice cream ($7.50).
Our chefs read the table, so everyone joins in and no one is put on the spot. Expect a bowl of fried rice and an egg or two heading your way, so dress the kids in something you’re relaxed about.
Birthday parties
We host plenty of birthdays and children’s parties. Tell us it’s a birthday when you book, along with anything special you have planned, and we’ll always do our best.
Everyone at the table orders their own set, so the steak fan and the seafood fan both get what they want, and the kids have their own set. We’re BYO, so bring a bottle for the grown-ups and we’ll keep it cold and pour it for you.
Group bookings
We’ll always do our best to fit your whole group in. Weekends fill up, so book as early as you can, especially for Friday to Sunday.
We may ask for a deposit for groups of 10 or more. We’ll go through it when we call to confirm your booking.

Questions parents ask
Is Fujiya good for kids?
Yes. Kids sit right at the hotplate, watch everything being cooked and catch their own fried rice. The kids’ set is $35, and a pancake with ice cream is $7.50.
Will food really be thrown at the kids?
Some of it. Your chef flips fried rice into their bowl and may toss an egg to catch. Our chefs read the table, so no one is put on the spot.
Can everyone order something different?
Yes. Everyone at the table chooses their own set, from $58 to $140 for adults, and the kids have their own set. See the full menu and prices.
Do you cater for allergies?
We always do our best to cater for every dietary requirement, including vegetarian and gluten-free diners. Everything is cooked on a shared hotplate, so please tell us about any allergy when you book.
Is Fujiya BYO?
Yes. You’re welcome to bring your own wine or beer, and we’ll keep it cold and pour it for you. We also have a short drinks list.
